From Jeffery Cohen Sent Fri, May 21st 1999, 03:44
i just spent the last hour or two playing around with some
Autechre, Pan Sonic and a Delay record, and discovered something
pretty interesting (to me), how well the latter 2 (Pan Sonic's B,
Delay 01) mixed with the Ae, and other idm i have, when played at
33, instead of the intended 45, and conversely the Ae @ 45.
so, i imagine i can't be the first to come to this revelation, that
alot of the dense, layered techno i have, played @ 33, blows a
majority of current idm away.
1) to those who already know about this: what other combinations
have you found that work?
i guess i'm asking two questions with that one:
i) who are the other labels, or artists producing techno in the very
textured, dense vein of Cytrax / Delay, or noisy, rhythmic abstractions
like Pan Sonic's B?
ii) of those records, which ones are pressed @ 45?
peace-
./ chris.
