these guys sound pretty cool. no wonder they're opening for trans am.

hmm. sounds like jazz. that's not an insult (i love jazz) but really,
the only reason post-rock stuff doesn't get called jazz is because it
usually doesn't involve horns. you'd think miles had taken care of that
"if it's got a guitar it must be rock!" thing in the 70's.

more-idm content:

picked up the best of the orb yesterday- quite nice to have little fluffy
clouds, toxygene and assassin all together on one disc. listening to the
remixes disc now (somebody priced it like a single used disc!) which is
pretty nice, not stunning.

in the stunning category though: mad monkey record's enter the monkey.
this thing is the bomb and a half. i can't recommend it highly enough.
perfect variety: ambient, digital mischief, noise, cd-skipping, funky
complex rhythms and more. every track has its own distinct feel, but they
somehow give each other a context like no other label sampler i've ever
heard. great efforts by a number of listmembers if i'm not mistaken. you
owe it to yourself to pick up this record, and peep the full review in
grooves #2 (plug plug).
