Need to plug a couple releases..
I've been playing si-{cut}.db's "Rate of
Living" on "repeat" mode today as it continually
propels itself into area's i never thought
IDM would enter: Weird & mysterious sounds,
melodic bits and pieces of chaos, and an
ultimately smooth yet coherent piece of
work to date. Sounds range from synthesized
electronica to dubby-jazz extracts and
odd twitches of abstract (almost live) drum's
pouncing in several directions with subtle ambient
spurts here and there. Check out
http://home.earthlink.net/~efrans/benford or
http://www.dfuse.com./sprawl/ for more info on
related Sprawl Imprint discography/projects..
((International release date is July 12))
On the other side of the platter, a good friend
of mine (David O'Toole) has just released a
cdr-ep under the alias Antarktika. I'll be playing
another one of his cuts on Friday's show called
"Miskatonic", but stay tuned for a review of his
latest cdr (Grooves Mag) that is self-titled, and
currently out for tender. The sounds on this
four-track cdr-ep are an ambient extraction into
high-fidelity electronica. Smooth construction,
crisp IDM melodies, and ambient tones for those
armchair listener's. I'm really excited about this
release, and hope to hear more news as David's
music reaches distribution and possible signing.
David can be reached at xxx@xxxxx.xxx.
Pietro.
