Sorry, I just have to say this:
I am consistently amazed by Dot records. I went from being moderately
intrigued by the Knights Who Say Dot compilation, to purchasing every Dot
release I can find.
hab - mapod went immediately into my top 5 releases of the year. the
tupilaq - volver ep is crunchy, dark, and funky. the friend full length,
while being more dn'b than I am usually into, is a great listen. quant's
breaking and entering ep is just heavenly, the hab remix being one of the
best tracks I've heard by him. endlessnessism is a great implementation of
a great concept.
The latest addition to my collection is Single of the Week, a collab
between Friend and Dr. Kosmos. It was released a while back. It is a
super-groovy, tongue in cheek combo of nu-school electro, disco, and
downtempo. the 3 remixes, by metamatics, clatterbox, and daniel ibbotson
are also fantastic.
I haven't heard the Roupe, Argonort, or other Quant ep's, but want to.
