There's actually 3 selections of vinyl that can be pressed:

1. heavy duty (thick)
2. normal (decent thickness)
3. thin (those records like the Ninja is holding in the Ninjatune logo)

friend of mine told me this, he is pressing 100 7" vinyls. I am not
absolutely 100% sure that those are the names of the actual pressing
options, but they are like that.. "extra thick, normal width, thin as hell"
type thing :D

I like the thin records personally.. they are much easier to spin, I mean
heavy records are a fucking pain to beatmatch.

but I do hate the variety of thin records where you could slit someone's
throat with the edges, that actually go thinner to the edge, like a blade.
these are just a pain to handle, because half the time you end up picking up
the slipmat as well as the record.
