Digital Signal Processing: take a signal (in this case audio),
do some matrix math on it (in hardware or software), and use
the result. It's like any other tool -- it can be used for
good or ill. I'm just of the opinion that, for all too
many musicians, it's this years version of Capri pants,
if you know what I mean.
