Did anyone see the second NYC show? I really wasn't too impressed with MoM.
They were ok, but all of their "songs" went on too long. They'd build,
then let it die without really maintaining a groove. Most of their stuff was
overly minimal, and even when they put in some squelches and bloops in the
last song, it was fun for a few minutes, but they didn't even build on that.
I dunno--was this just a bad show, or am I disliking the same thing everyone
else loved? Maybe because the crowd wasn't really dancing, so the vibe
didn't feel right...
Stereolab, on the other hand, was excellent, and I had only heard some of
ETK beforehand.
