I believe that Cleopatra intended to release the original tracks on a new album for Penal Colony but that fell through when (A) Cleopatra came to the conclusion that industrial music doesn't sell and stoped releasing it en masse, and (B) Penal Colony broke up. I know there was some friction between the band members regarding the new material as it was decidedly different from the previous album. Anyway, i know the tracks exist somewhere, but i'm not sure that they have ever been released. The track "Some People Don't Think They're Stupid" appeared on the Re-Constriction compilation "Thugs & Kisses" a few years back. I believe that was their last compilation appearance before breaking up. Other than that, there's the first album, "Put Your Hands Down," and the two remix albums "Five Man Job" and "Shadows In Blue." zimbette wrote: > i guess this is not QUITE idm related :) but given some of the > connections and backgrounds of people on this list, i am hoping that > someone can help me.. > > here is so-cal there was a very good (though i guess they went very bad at > somepoint?.. lost touch:) sorta industrial band called "penal colony". > they had a release out on cleopatra. > > anyway, at the point that i enjoyed their music the most, they produced > 5 or so songs, one of which was called "produkt". i am loooking for these > songs. they were to be released on a remix cd by cleopatra.. but > cleopatra, in their infinite wisdom on such music, decided it would be a > good idea to only release the remixes and NOT the originals. > > some of the remixes are okay (like the ptv ones) -- but really, they dont > compare for me. > > if anyone has any clue on what im talking about and how i might find the > songs -- please let me know. > > thanks! > > chris. > > music for lunchpails . wednesdays 7-9pm . kuci 88.9fm . www.kuci.org > ..pain enables both the giver and the receiver..
